Ch. 3
Saints
I stood at the stove, starring down at the food cooking in the large pan. Jungkook had lied to me, but why? Was he trying to keep us safe? But if that were the case, wouldn't telling me be the better bet so I knew to keep my guard up and not get comfortable.
Did Taehyung even know the truth? The more I thought about it, the more my head hurt, and the more questions I had.
The safest thing would be for Seunghyun and I to pack what we could and leave tonight, just in case, I had to do what was best for Seunghyun.
"Nari, you alright?" I looked up, Jungkook was standing in the doorway. I pursed my lips and looked back down at the pan, stirring the contents. "Uh oh. What's wrong?" He asked.
"Seunghyun, go to your room real quick please." I said. Confused, Seunghyun got up from his seat and went to his room.
Jungkook walked over to where I was. "What's wrong? Are you mad at me?"
I turned to him. "Why did you lie to me?" I asked.
His brows rose. "What did I lie about?"
I held back the urge to raise my voice. "Quite a few things it seems." I paused. "Why did you tell me Taehyung had a life sentence? Or here's my favorite. Why did you tell him I was dead?"
His eyes rounded and his face paled. "I thought I was doing the right thing. If he thought you were gone then he wouldn't look for you, if you knew he wasn't out in prison you would have gone for him." He explained.
I shook my head. "That's not for you to decide Jungkook! It should have been my choice whether I wanted to see him or not."
"So you would have…" He said, sounding hurt.
I shrugged. "I don't know, but for you to just decide for me. It wasn't right. Seunghyun had to grow up without having a father, and I'm always working." I turned off the stove.
"Did he find out about Seunghyun?" He asked, panic creeping in his voice.
"He saw him, asked about him, but I lied and said that he was yours… I-I can't do this right now. Seunghyun needs to eat." I walked over to the table, setting the bowl of food down in the middle. "SEUNGHYUN COME EAT!!" I called down the hallway.
Jungkook sat down in the chair beside mine and across from Seunghyun. "Nari.. I'm sorry." He whispered.
I looked over at him. "Stop." I warned.
. . . . . . .
I tucked Seunghyun into bed and went to take a shower before I laid down to go to bed.
As I waited for the water to heat up, I took off my makeup and stripped out of my clothes. I saw my reflection in the mirror, my fingers running down the scar on my face that I covered up every morning before work, my eyes dropped to the bullet hole scar that was right above my heart.
I stepped into the shower, the hot water running down my body. Was Jungkook right? If I knew
